  • Manufacturing Engineer – Machining

    Under the general direction of, and reporting to, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager; perform general Manufacturing Engineering duties and CNC programming to support all Telsmith product lines.

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • BS in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred.
    • Requires education generally equivalent to an Associate’s Degree.
    • Requires 3-5 years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering and CNC programming experience.
    • Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform trigonometric, algebraic and geometric calculations.
    • Strong knowledge of Mastercam software preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of the following processes required:
      • Horizontal Boring Mill programming.
      • Vertical Turning Lath (VTL) programming.
      • 5 Axis CNC Programming.
      • Vertical Turning Center (VTC) (with live tooling) programming.
      • Vertical Milling Machines programming.
    • Strong knowledge of SolidWorks software preferred.
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD software is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system is preferred.
    • Knowledge of EPDM software is preferred.
    • Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
    • Requires a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and routings.
    • Experience with Lean and continuous improvement tool is a plus.
    • Formal project management training and experience is preferred.
    • Requires a strong knowledge of insert selection and work holding design.

These positions require heavy physical exertion, lifting up to 35 lbs., bending, climbing and working in awkward positions. Production Helpers may move on to Erector Assembler positions, Shipper positions, Spray Painter positions or Reserve Burner positions. Production Helpers start at $15.62 with 2nd and 3rd shift positions receiving an additional premium. After your first sixty (60) days, you will receive an additional $0.50 per hour and incremental increases during your very first year. Ample overtime is offered as vacation, medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with a match, life insurance and short-term disability. Additional benefits are available for purchase too.
