At what speed and RPM should I run my 20-degree screen?
The correct speed and RPM are directly proportional to the aperture size for optimal screen performance.
In this video, Al Van Mullem, Vice President Engineering at Telsmith explains that understanding the aperture’s opening will dictate what throw and speed you will select.
Here are the important points Al covers in the video:
In general, the larger the opening, the larger the throw; conversely, the smaller the opening, the smaller the throw.
A typical application will call for a 3/8-inch throw and matched speed of 800 RPMs.
A typical range will be between .3 inches to .43 (7/16) inches with matching speed that will ensure the best performance of your screen.
