Why should I put a bin and feeder before a cone crusher?
There are two major reasons you would put a bin and feeder in front of a cone crusher.
In this video, Dean Wolfe, Product Application Engineering Supervisor at Telsmith explains the major reasons for placing a bin and feeder before a cone crusher.
Here are the important points Dean covers in the video:
The surge bin allows for fluctuations in feed to be controlled and therefore to keep a choke feed on the cone crusher.
The second reason is to control the feed distribution to the cone crusher.
By having a feeder in front of the cone crusher you can control the feed distribution, the large material, and the small material, to evenly distribute it in the feed opening.
